Tracy is a 23-year law enforcement professional, where he finished the last eight years of his career as a precinct chief. Tracy has significant experience in executive administration, intergovernmental relations, narcotics, fugitive apprehension, media relations, and police operations. He started his career with the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office and later transitioned to both the Taylorsville Police Department and ultimately the Unified Police Department, where he finished out his law enforcement career. In addition, Tracy has over 24 years managing off duty police officers for varying security roles throughout Utah and Idaho, and 3 years working with various entities throughout the United States in their goal of assisting law enforcement more effectively combat child crimes and similar. Tracy has earned multiple acknowledgements during his career, that include the medal of distinction, mayor’s award of excellence, meritorious service, team citation(s), service award(s), law enforcement supervisor of the year, law enforcement officer of the year, and multiple other awards and certificates.
