For Law Enforement Agencies.

Why you need an
Electronic Detection K9

You are missing evidence the K9 nose knows!

Electronic Detection K9s are a powerful tool in modern investigations, locating an average of two or more electronic devices that are often missed during standard law enforcement searches. Because these items are so small and easy to conceal, critical evidence can remain hidden without specialized support. These K9s are trained to detect hidden cameras, hidden microphones, microSD cards, burner phones, gun scopes, and other electronic devices, both indoors and outdoors. That evidence can be the key to stopping criminals and rescuing victims.

These K9s play an important role in a wide range of investigations, including Crimes Against Children, ICAC cases, drug cases, murder investigations, trafficking, terrorism, and more. With an estimated 90% or more of cases involving electronics in some way, their value in the field is undeniable.

The dogs selected for this work are typically Labradors, Golden Retrievers, or other gentle breeds. Beyond their investigative abilities, their calm and comforting presence brings an added layer of support to law enforcement offices, victims, and children involved in interviews. They can provide comfort both at the search scene and back at the office, helping create a more reassuring environment during difficult circumstances.

The evidence these K9s uncover has led investigators to live victims they did not know existed, uncovered additional offenders, prompted further confessions, and in some cases even spared victims from having to be interviewed.

This also creates an opportunity to share positive news with the community. Every K9 is a hero, and DFC uses that message to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and education while also fundraising to place more Electronic Detection K9s. Through this work, communities are connected with law enforcement in a positive way, highlighting the good being done and building stronger support for these life-saving efforts.
